What is the PTFA?
The parent teacher association is a group of parents, friends and school staff who give up their time, either regularly or for ad-hoc events to help organise community and school events to raise money for George Fentham School.
Why is the PTFA important?
As a parent, you may be aware that LEA funding is provided to schools per child. This means whilst some of our children get the benefit of smaller than average class sizes, the school itself receives less money from the LEA than some other schools within the borough.
The George Fentham Trust plays a vital role in supporting the school financially, paying for activities such as the life bus and contributing to the foundation stage extension but other key needs, such as our school sports equipment or visit from external organisations, are paid for from money raised through the PTFA.

- To serve the educational interests of all the children in the school
- To help parents have greater involvement in the school
