24 hour Sponsored Cycle Ride
Celebrating the end of the ride
12pm Friday 8th November to 12pm Saturday 9th November 2013

Sporting parents and friends of George Fentham Endowed School peddled for a good cause to raise money for project playground in a 24 hour sponsored bike ride. Cyclists rode for a minimum of an hour to clock up funds and show their support for the school. Several parents completed a motivational spinning class for their hour and some brave cyclists clocked up several hours in the saddle - enormous thanks to every cyclist for your fabulous efforts! We were joined by the Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull who came to show their support for the event and cheered us on to the end, which was very much appreciated by everyone.

We did it! Completing the 24 hour ride at 12pm on Saturday.
Many thanks to everyone involved in the ride, anyone who sponsored the cyclists, the team at Hampton Gym, the DJ who kept everyone motivated and Julie from The Corner Shop in Hampton-in-Arden for donating a buffet lunch for the tired masses. A special mention should go to Martin (pictured below) who raised a whopping £500, as well as the donor who came to the gym with a cheque donation for £200. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.
Final, enormous thanks must go to John Read, our PTA Chair who stayed up a staggering 32 hours overseeing the event, looking after everyone and keeping the whole cycle ride running smoothly. We are all very grateful for his heroic efforts!
